Mykolas Romeris University is a public university established in 2004 in the capital city of Vilnius, Lithuania, bearing the name of the Lithuanian legal scholar Mykolas Romeris. Mykolas Romeris University is the second largest university in Lithuania. Over 21,000 students were enrolled during the 2009-2010 academic year. Serving the Community

 MRU provides services to the community through the Legal Aid Center and the Crime Victim’s Care Association of Lithuania, which provides support for crime victims. It also opens its facilities, such as the library, to the community. International Association of Universities (IAU) Secretary General Eva Egron-Polak suggested that Prof. Alvydas Pumputis, who was elected MRU’s Rector in January 2010, "will continue to strengthen the institutional capacity in education and research as well as community service."

IAU Conference 2010: Ethics and Values in Higher Education

 Mykolas Romeris University hosted the 2010 International Association of Universities conference on Ethics and Values in Higher Education in the Era of Globalization. This conference addressed issues pertaining to social responsibility, such as working for human rights, academic freedom, and environmental sustainability in higher education.
