Livingstone International University

The Livingstone International University was founded to bring opportunities to the youth of Uganda. Livingstone University is dedicated to bringing in community outcasts, giving them an education and sending them back to go and change the communities they come from. The university aims to create not only job seekers, but also job creators and leaders, upholding integrity and ethical norms in every sphere of their lives. Livingstone creates graduating students who will be employable in any sector of society and not be limited. This is why students are much exposed to real time events and enterprises in surrounding communities.

YLP

Due to the different needs in the various communities in and around the university, the students in the picture above realized they needed to do something about the life of people around and even beyond. They chose to start a program that would work as an arm to help the poor, needy, unemployed and disabled, and fight social evils that are faced by the different communities in Uganda. It was against such a background that the formation of the Youth Livelihood Program became inevitable.

Through YLP, community services, including cleaning services, tailoring for the women, computer training, career guidance and counselling, etc. have been carried out in different communities. The program recognizes and fosters respect for cultural diversity in the communities and cultural galas have been organized where different cultures showcase some of their traditional dishes, dances, dresses, etc.
