University Social Responsibility at UCC

UCC RSUUCC’s civic engagement activities centers on an approach it calls University Social Responsibility (RSU), formally adopted in 2006. RSU emphasizes not only having civic engagement and community outreach activities, but having social responsibility permeate every aspect of the university, including its administration, teaching, research, and outreach. Under the RSU program, UCC requires that each faculty submit a plan and list of social responsibility projects that they will undertake in the coming year, either independently or in collaboration with other academic units. This way, the university ensures that faculty and students from across the university are involved. Learn more about UCC’s RSU strategy>>

Volunteers – Universidad Católica de Córdoba

The university also strongly encourages students and staff to volunteer their time for community service projects through the “Volunteers – Universidad Católica de Córdoba” program. Supporting the slogan of the University of "men and women of science forming, conscience and commitment," the Voluntary area assumes the mission to promote voluntary solidarity activities carried out by young students working towards professional futures. By linking student work with community experiences in disadvantaged sectors, pupils are sensitized with social problematics and at the same time, contributing to the development of communities and helping to overcome difficulties concerning situations that are of the interest and demand of community members.

The  values that sustain the solidarity activities in the Catholic University of Cordoba, is demonstrated by the respect, the understanding, the tolerance, the solidarity and the empathy by one another. Embracing these values enables the generation of internal changes in the volunteer, allowing for greater tolerance and acceptance and altering the way the volunteer views his or her role in the professional world.
