The following information is for the 2015-16 University Education for Transformative Leadership in Africa Mini Grants.

What types of examples should I provide?

We recommend that you provide one example that showcases the experience of students who in your program. Where possible include evidence of success and indicate the connection between the example and the objectives of the Mini Grant Program. Eligible projects include but are not limited to: a community-based research initiative that builds student skills and capacities; a professor-led industry outreach effort, a department-specific curriculum change, a service-learning program that prepares students for the job market, an internship program that appears to be overcoming some of the standard obstacles to effectiveness, and a new effort to further understand the link between community engagement activities and preparing youth for employment.

How can I access support from the Talloires Network team for my application?

We are available to answer questions, discuss challenges you might face in the application process, and offer advice. We want your proposal to succeed. Please get in touch with us. The best way to reach us is to send an email to talloiresnetwork@tufts.edu. We will respond by email, or set up a phone or Skype conversation, as necessary.

How will applications be selected for funding?

Each eligible final proposal will be reviewed by a selection committee. Proposals will be evaluated according to the criteria provided in the instruction sheet of the Request for Proposals. All finalist applicants are subject to the same criteria. Please remember that incomplete applications will not be considered, and will not be reviewed by the selection committee.

What additional opportunities are available if my project is not selected for funding?

If your application is not selected for funding, we hope that the proposal process will be useful to you, and that you will take advantage of other opportunities to be involved in Talloires Network programs. As a member of the Talloires Network, applicants also are eligible for annual Talloires Network programs such as the MacJannet Prize and the University Volunteer Program.

What happens after the deadline of September 4?

After September 4, you will receive an email within two business days confirming our receipt of your application. Applicants will be notified in November 2015 as to whether their application will be funded. Awards will be publicly announced no later than November 30, 2015.
