Concordia University (Canada)
Located in the vibrant and culturally dynamic city of Montreal, Concordia is one of three English-language universities in the French-speaking province of Quebec. Concordia is an open and engaged university that encourages more than 46,000 students to become active, critical and global citizens. Concordia is advancing with a big thinking approach to teaching and research that examines societal issues from a broad perspective.
As outlined in the University’s Strategic Framework, Reaching Up, Reaching Out, Concordia is devoting its energies to three major strategic directions: academic work of the highest quality; outstanding student experience and student engagement; and community engagement and social responsibility.
The Sustainable Communities Partnership is Concordia’s signature for community engagement and social responsibility, housed in the Office of the Vice-President Institutional Relations and Secretary General. As a bridging initiative, its purpose is to support, connect, and promote existing community-university partnerships as well as foster the sustainable development of new partnerships.
The Sustainable Communities Partnership is proud to support a large number of initiatives that make Concordia a more engaged university. These offerings encompass curricular and co-curricular opportunities, programs led by students, staff, and faculty, featuring local and global involvement. An inventory of these diverse campus-community collaborations can be found on Concordia’s Sustainable Communities Partnership website.
