Instituto Politécnico Nacional (Mexico)
Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN) is a public university in Mexico City, Mexico, founded in 1936. It’s mission is to be “a leader in the generation, application, dissemination and transfer of scientific and technological knowledge…[and] to contribute to economic, social and political development of the country.” IPN has a variety of programs encouraging the engagement of its students including:
- Social Service: the Institute contributes to raising the economic, social and cultural development in the different regions of country, in order to extend benefits of science, technology and culture to society, as well as support in forming an integral form of their students
- Skills Training Throughout Life: Provide updated training to enable people to adapt to their context, under different environments and moments
- Academic Cooperation: Encourage collaboration and exchange with local and international educational and research institutions sharing common goals, under principles of shared responsibility and mutual benefit
