Peer Helper Program

Guelph peer programThe University of Guelph has been a leader in the development of innovative programs to assist students with the transitions involved with coming to university and in providing support to students throughout their academic careers. With the mission of the University in mind, the Peer Helper Program was implemented within the Counselling and Student Resource Centre in 1984. Currently, the Peer Helper Program consists of over 25 units and 200 peers, which makes it one of the largest and most well-established University Peer programs in Canada. Peer Helpers learn to present workshops, write proposals, plan events, and refer students to campus and community resources. Learn more>>

 

Project Serve CanadaGuelph serve

Each February, during the winter semester Reading Week, Project Serve Canada enables students from the University of Guelph to connect with students from other Canadian and American universities and communities. Together, these students serve in collaboratively designed four- or five-day volunteer placements. In 2009, UofG students traveled to Guelph, Mississippi, Cape Croker First Nation reservation, and Vancouver. Learn more>>
