University of Sargodha is Public Sector University and was established in 2002 at Sargodha, Pakistan. Civic Engagement Approach at University of Sargodha:
To promote civic sense among the graduates of this university and shoulder the responsibilities with civil society, the Syndicate of the University has termed it mandatory for each graduating student to render community services to the society. The idea is to provide support to the civil society in Education, Law, Social Work and Community Services etc.
The University has its Social Welfare Society with aims of provision of free books, blood as well as eradication of social evils. In order to achieve these aims, two major services, Book Bank and Blood Bank are in working for community. The Society is registered with the Department of Social Welfare, Women Development, Zakat and Baitulmal, Government of the Punjab. The university has following centers to render the services to the community:
University Medical and Diagnostic Centre (UMDC) for community
The University authorities established a well equipped Medical & Diagnostic Centre with Laboratories in Microbiology, Hematology, Histopathology & Cytology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry & Chemical Pathology and Radiology & Ultrasound and laboratories are equipped with advance Medical instruments and Machines to provide reliable medical tests and consultancy services of the Senior Doctors to the community. The services are being provided round the clock.
University Medical Complex and Trauma Center
After observing the tremendous response to the UMDC by community, the idea of a much needed state of art University Medical Complex and Trauma Center was conceived by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Akram Chaudhary. The construction work is in progress with estimated cost 395 Million Pak Rupees. It will provide treatment in major diseases like cardiovascular diseases, mental diseases, burning cases in addition to routine diseases in the remote aria like Sargodha. This will also help to create strong linkage and confidence between University of Sargodha and Society.

To provide quality medicines to the community at discounted rates with reliability and validity, the university has its Model Pharmacy.
Mineral Water (Khush Aab) A Quality Product of UOS
In Pakistan more than 80% population has not been provided safe drinking water. In Sargodha region the underground water is highly polluted due to down flow of salts from the Salt Range as well as other minerals in that area. It is the reason that the maximum percentage of patients at Sargodha are suffering from kidney diseases as well as liver problems. Keeping in view the situation, a project was launched to provide safe and healthy drinking water with the name Khush Aab. Khush Aab is available to the community on subsidized rates.
FM Radio Station (Community Radio)
University has its own FM Campus Radio (VOV). The feature that gives superiority to FM broadcast is that it is working as community radio, broadcasting programs in the languages and dialects of a particular region giving sophistication to the tastes and styles of the natives.
Agriculture Research and Outreach to the Farmer Community
Making research relevant to the needs of the local population is a key feature of the university research culture. University Researchers produced a lot of agriculture verities especially sugarcane, disease free potato and disease free certified citrus nursery. University provide nursery to the farmers at subsidized rates through outreach program. University College of Agriculture is the center of Pakistan Agriculture Scientist Society (PASS) which publish monthly magazine DOAAB on regular basis and it is delivered free to the farmer community as well as intelligentsia of Pakistan. A veterinary clinic established at the college facilitates the local livestock farmers. The Quality Enhancement Cell of University of the Sargodha always strives for quality services to the community.
