Mirpur University of Science of Technology (MUST), Pakistan

The Ali Ahmed Shah University College of Engineering & Technology was established in 1980. The college catered for the requirements of the students in the realm of science & technology under the auspices of Azad Jammu and Kashmir University. This college, located in the beautiful city of Mirpur, proved to be a worthy seat of learning for engineer graduates in five disciplines such as Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, Basic Sciences and Computer Science and Information Technology. Keeping in view the standard and requirements, this college was promoted and relaunched as Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST) on the 15th of August, 2008. The objective laid down in its founding document is “To enhance facilities for higher education and research in the state of Azad Jammu & Kashmir”.

The new status heralds a new sign of revolutionary uplift of the University. Evidently there are certain requirements rather pressing ones first and foremost is that of land which has already been awarded is 600 acres. It is wisely hoped that the changed scenario will bring about healthy environment academically. The new university is really a vestige of a new era in terms of imparting education in a unique style and fashion. Its qualified staff is devoted to the very cause of sublimity and perfection. Living in this age of marvelous scientific and technological achievements, advancements in these fields are intrinsically of paramount importance.

The Faculty of Home Economics and Institute of Islamic Studies are situated right in the heart of the city. The University shall be shifted to its new location; a picturesque spot named Sainse, 25 kilometers away from the city, on the main Mirpur-Bhimber road.

Our new born university MUST is endeavouring its best to accept the challenges of the day and come up to the national expectations and aspirations. We are equipping our laboratories with modern apparatus so that we may be able to slake the thirst of our students. Enhancement of standard is our pivotal goal and we are doing our best to make the MUST worthy by all standards. It will touch the bliss of eminence in a short span of time.
