Biography

Susanna E. Klassen, University of British Columbia (Canada)

Susanna is a PhD candidate at the University of British Columbia, located on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Musqueam people, and she studies the social dimensions of food system transformations. Susanna is currently a visiting research scholar at Colorado State University, on the traditional territory of the Ute, Cheyenne and Arapaho peoples. Through Susanna’s PhD research on organic agriculture, she has been able to work alongside different communities creating more sustainable and just food systems. Susanna is also the Vice Chair of Food Secure Canada, a national non-profit working to advance food sovereignty in Canada.
