Feature: Focus on Students

Talloires Network students attend CGIU in New Orleans

From March 14-16 2008, university students joined together in New Orleans to attend Clinton Global Initiative – University. 24 students from Talloires Network institutions attended this conference, from 11 universities and 7 countries. These students engaged in Talloires Network workshops and are helping to develop the student-led arm of the Talloires Network. Read more>>

GUNI Conference in Barcelona: March 31-April 1, 2008

GUNI conference.JPGThe Global University Network for Innovation held a conference titled "Higher Education: New Challenges and Emerging Roles for Human and Social Development" from 31 March – 2 April, 2008 in Barcelona, Spain. Talloires Network Coordinator Elizabeth Babcock presented on approaches that institutions can take to implement social responsibility on their campuses. Read more>>

IAU Conference in Utrecht: July 15-18 2008

IAU conference.JPG The International Association of Universities will hold a conference titled "Higher Education and Research Addressing Local and Global Needs" on 15-18 July 2008 in Utrecht, the Netherlands. The conference will emphasize the responsibilities of higher education to serve the world around it. In addition, representatives of the Talloires Network will be organizing a workshop at this meeting. Read more>>

ACU Conference in Hyderabad: November 28-30, 2008

ACU conference.JPGThe Association of Commonwealth Universities will hold a conference of Executive Heads on 28-30 November 2008 in Hyderabad, India. The theme of the conference is "Dazzling Technologies: Seismic shifts in higher education in a fast-changing and unequal world." Brenda Gourley, Chair of the Talloires Network Global Project, also serves as Chair of the ACU Council. Read more>>
