MacJannet Prize 2016: Applications Now Open
Thursday, December, 3rd, 2015 News
Talloires Network and the MacJannet Foundation come together for the eighth time to find the excellent programs that make up the fabric of community engagement around the world and award them the 2016 MacJannet Prize for Global Citizenship. Since the two organizations first came together to create this award, hundreds of compelling programs have been nominated, and dozens rewarded. The first-place winners include universities in Argentina, Chile, Canada, Malaysia, Mexico, and Pakistan.
The push for open and engaged universities needs to be grounded on partnerships between students, educators, community organizations, and regular citizens willing to help or be helped. While receiving an award isn’t the motivation behind this work, taking a moment to pause and recognize those doing the work is a worthy endeavor. It is imperative for outstanding community engagement models and practices to be recognized.
Community engagement initiatives at Talloires Network member institutions are eligible to be nominated. This year, the MacJannet Prize nominations deadline will be in February 29, 2016. All the information about the timeline and eligibility can be found here.
