Dear colleague,

As a Mexican immigrant and graduate of Tufts University, I am proud that this year’s Talloires Network Leaders Conference is taking place in Veracruz, Mexico (pictured here). This global convergence of scholars, practitioners, students, and university leaders is the fourth of its kind, after previous meetings in France, Spain, and South Africa.

The Talloires Network strives to raise new voices, to create platforms to opportunity for those with less access, and to strengthen cross-cultural international collaboration. Our founding declaration expresses these values, and the conference is an opportunity to reaffirm them. However, we cannot ignore the symbolic importance of having our conference in Mexico and the message that we will send the world.

Universidad Veracruzana is one of the many great universities in our network actively engaging students with their communities in ways that create positive ripple effects for lasting change. At TNLC2017, we will hear from recognized leaders from Mexico, Australia, United States, Argentina, Canada, and more. These leaders fearlessly lead universities, serve as diplomats, create exciting social entrepreneurship programs, and write insightful takes on the most important issues facing our universities today. Every participant will have the opportunity to share their way of leading amidst adversity in a round of dialogue sessions designed to encourage horizontal collaborations.

Last week, our Steering Committee Chair Anthony Monaco messaged our membership with an invitation to be part of the future of the Talloires Network. This conference will not only be a launching pad for our next stage, but it will be an opportunity to steer the engagement movement to truly integrate people from all over the world.

Make sure to reserve your spot by completing your registration today! Do not hesitate to reach out to us with any questions and let us know if we can count on your presence. We hope to see you there!

Sincerely,
