The University of Johannesburg (UJ) is a public university in Johannesburg, South Africa, that was established in 2005 as a result of the merger of Technikon Witwatersrand and the Rand Afrikaans University. “In its Mission, UJ commits itself to the following: quality education; leading, challenging, creating and exploring knowledge; supporting access to a wide spectrum of academic, vocational and technological teaching, learning and research; partnerships with our communities; contributing to national objectives regarding skills development and economic growth.” Community Engagement is one of the three pillars of UJ’s core business.
