AIEP (Chile)
AIEP is a leading technical and vocational higher education institution in Chile, with 59 years of experience and a strong commitment to inclusive, community-driven education. With over 90,000 active students and 25 campuses nationwide, AIEP offers more than 90 academic programs across 7 Schools, including Health, Education, Engineering, Administration, Aesthetics, Gastronomy, and Creative Industries. Programs are delivered through flexible formats, including blended, online, and executive tracks, ensuring broad territorial coverage.
Community engagement (Vinculación con el Medio) is a core institutional function at AIEP, recognized with advanced accreditation by Chile’s National Accreditation Commission. It is implemented through four strategic mechanisms:
- Labor Market Support for Society
- Community Commitment
- Support for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)
- Innovation and Entrepreneurship
These mechanisms guide over 2,000 initiatives annually, involving 42,000+ students and more than 15,000 direct beneficiaries. All actions are grounded in gender equity, territorial relevance, sustainability, and reciprocity. Initiatives are co-developed with public agencies, communities, and civil society organizations, and are informed by regional advisory councils and thematic committees.
AIEP leads national programs that blend professional training with social impact. Key examples include:
- Cuidando Juntos (“Caring Together”): a program that trains informal caregivers of older adults and dependents, supported by students from the School of Health.
- Trastienda Solidaria: a circular economy initiative focused on textile reuse and responsible consumption.
- Mujeres Valientes (“Brave Women”): providing psychosocial support to women undergoing chemotherapy, in collaboration with students and local health services.
