The Universitat Politecnica de Valencia (UPV) is an innovative and dynamic public university dedicated to research and teachings that maintain strong connections to the social surroundings. Currently, there are around 37000 students, 2600 professors and 1700 staff members at the university. UPV counts with 15 university centers in three campuses (Vera, Alcoy, and Gandia).

Vice-chancery for Social Responsibility and Cooperation
The Vice-chancery for Social Responsibility and Cooperation is responsible for planning and managing the university’s social policies with respect to international cooperation, gender equity practices, sports-related service and alumni relations. Visit the Vice-Chancery site.

Development Cooperation Center
The “Centro de Cooperacion al Desarrollo” (CCD) was built as a meeting and reflection space for the university community interested in building a real compromise to face a social reality that’s more unequal each day. The CCD acts as a catalyst for solidarity among the university community, empowering its collaboration with the neediest members of our society, both to the north and the south. Visit the CCD site.

Social Responsibility
The Vice-Chancery for Social Responsibility and Cooperation designs, plans, and manages the university’s social policies. Among its actions, we find the social programs directed toward UPV staff and alumni, the Juana Portaceli Health Center, CEDAT Foundation (which supports the collective in terms of functional diversity), support for the Children’s School UVP (which enrolls 1-3-year-old kids), and finally the Universidad Senior (which provides educational programs for those older than 55). UPV Social Volunteerism
UPV’s commitment to its surrounding communities and to its students holistic development led to the creation of this program, which provides the adequate structures for students, staff, and alumni of the university to actively participate in their community. Site for UPV Social Volunteerism.

Equality Unit
The “Unidad de Igualdad” (Equality Unit) corresponds to the promotion, implementation, coordination and evaluation of all those policies – present and future – adopted within UPV for the effective development of a principle of Equal Opportunity through policies of equal treatment and non-discrimination. CEDAT Foundation

This unit offers information and counseling for members of the university community who deal with disabilities. It provides technical assistance for the students’ educational needs, and promotes hiring policies that can benefit disabled people from within and outside the university. Site for CEDAT Foundation.
