The Department of Theology of CSUC in June every year undertakes evangelical outreaches to churches in remote communities across Ghana to share the Word of God, reach out and inspire the vulnerable, offer counseling services and engage in community services like clean-up exercises to promote sanitation, raise awareness and create community responsibility. Bonyere and Tarkwa in the Western Region, Nkoransa in the Brong Ahafo Region, Drobonso in the Afram Plains and Adankwame in the Ashanti Region are few communities in Ghana that have benefitted from the outreach programmes of CSUC.
Youth Empowerment and Donation
As part of its corporate social responsibilities and youth empowerment programme, CSUC has established a scholarship scheme for indigenes of Odeneho Kwadaso, a suburb of Kumasi where the University College is situated. The scholarship provides financial assistance to brilliant but needy students and supports the education of the youth in the community (A news article on the scholarship scheme was published in the CSUC’s 2013 Newsletter available online at CSUC’s website – www.csuc.edu.gh on CSUC eNewsletter page. As part of the social responsibilities also, the CSUC in May 2013 donated refurbished bunk beds and mattresses to the Rullman Methodist Vocational Technical Institute at Juaben in the Ashanti Region to support the institute. (This donation appeared in Ghana’s biggest selling newspaper, the Daily Graphic on Saturday, May 4, 2013 edition on page 32).
