Adil Kome

Adil Kome is a Master of Science (M.Sc.) student in Sustainable Energy Systems at the University of Edinburgh, building on a Geology and Hydrogeology background from the University of Nairobi. Driven by a passion for sustainability, climate change mitigation, and the energy–water nexus, Adil has worked in rural South Sudan, Sudan and Kenya to secure access to clean water for vulnerable communities. Growing up in Kakuma Refugee Camp, he discovered his calling to mentor and inspire others-impacting over 200 students who later joined universities across Kenya. He served as Secretary General for the Windle International Kenya Student Association(DAFIkeso), advocating for higher education opportunities for displaced youth. Awarded scholarships from Windle International Kenya(for his leadership skills) and the Mastercard Foundation. Adil now represents refugee students at Edinburgh, championing equitable educational access and ensuring their voices are heard.
