Beatrice Somuah

Beatrice is a passionate environmental advocate currently pursuing a Master of Geomatics for Environmental Management at the University of British Columbia (UBC). With a background in Geography from the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), she is deeply committed to driving positive change within her community and beyond.

Beatrice leads the Turning Waste to Wealth initiative in Nkawkaw, Ghana, which empowers individuals to convert waste into valuable resources, promoting environmental sustainability and economic empowerment through circular solutions. Her academic focus on environmental management and remote sensing fuels her ambition to apply geospatial technologies in solving real-world environmental challenges.

As part of the For Youth, By Youth movement, Beatrice is excited to collaborate with like-minded young leaders, exchange knowledge, and contribute to sustainable development, particularly across Africa. She is dedicated to leveraging her skills to influence policy, advocate for environmental protection, and help build green, climate-resilient communities for a more sustainable future.
