The University of Limerick (UL) is a public university in Limerick, Ireland. Established in 1972 as the National Institute for Higher Education, Limerick, UL became a university in 1989. UL’s work placement program actively focuses on civic and community engagement with its students working in community development organizations, family resource centers, and youth support in disadvantaged areas. Integrating civic and community engagement into UL students’ formal curriculum
UL is committed to providing a broad curriculum and the development of key graduate attributes. Students can acquire academic credits through reflective, evidence-based and research informed community engagement.
